🎓 Department

Basic Science & Humanities

The Department was established in the year 1997. Department has well qualified and experienced faculty headed by Prof. D R Bharathadevi as coordinator. Department aims at providing outstanding teaching and quality training in Science and has four Ph.D. holders. Department conducts courses in Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry and Engineering Mathematics. Department also identifies students who need extra mentoring in the subjects and conducts remedial classes in order to help students. The department of Physics is a recognized Research Center under VTU. What is Science & Engineering? Science is the study of the physical world, while Engineering applies scientific knowledge to design processes, structures or equipment. The motive of the course is to provide students sufficient knowledge and skills that would be required to channelize their learning in a practical sense when they enter the job market. What is the Job opportunities in Engineering? Engineering graduates have a broad range of career options, including different kinds of engineering roles, jobs in related areas such as supply chain and jobs in other industries such as finance and IT. Throughout your engineering degree, specific skills you will have gained include: planning, analytical thinking, presentation and other communication skills, numeracy, statistics and computing, capacity for detail data analysis, logical thinking, problem solving, organisational abilities, project management, research skills, teamwork, resilience.
